ABOUT ME
Gabrielle Giacomo is an NYC based stage director with previous experience as a choreographer, stage manager, and teaching artist. Her love of the performing arts began at a young age with the opportunity to train at the School of American Ballet. As a student, she was able to perform alongside the NYCB in ballets including The Nutcracker, Firebird, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She went on to receive her BFA in Dramatic Literature and Film & Television Production from NYU Tisch and completed the Professional Apprentice Program for Stage Management at The Juilliard School. During her education and since graduating, she has had the opportunity to direct several short films, musicals, and plays. In 2014, she was named Director of the Year at Rockland Youth Film Festival and Best Young Filmmaker at Downtown Tyler Festival. In 2020, she won an Honorable Mention for Best Female Director at the Independent Short Awards representing her latest film, Mac/Beth. In 2025, she was a Resident Artist Assistant Director at the Glimmerglass Festival. This fall, she will pursue her MFA in Theatre Directing at Columbia University School of the Arts.
